Treatment with Valtrex should be started from the first symptoms.
Take 1000 mg of Valtrex 3 times/day for a period of 7 days. Drink a lot of fluids.
To prevent infection with shingles, take 500 mg of Voltarex once/day. For patients with low immune system, the recommended dosage is of 1000 mg (2 capsules)/ day.
In the treatment for genital herpes, take 4 capsules twice a day for a period of one day.
If you skipped a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Then resume your regular schedule.
In case of overdose, immediately inform your doctor.

According to clinical studies, Valtrex is generally well tolerated. Most common side effects are mild headaches and nausea. Contact your doctor if you experience difficulty breathing, speaking and swallowing; swollen lips, face and mouth; severe nausea; hives.
