Brand Name: Xenical, Alli, Tetrahydrolipstatin
Generic Names: Orlistat
Xenical is used to aid weight loss in obese individuals or those who are overweight. It promotes reduced caloric intake by preventing the absorption of fats from what you eat and directly passing it out of the body via the stool.
Xenical works by blocking the fat from the food keeping it from being absorbed by the body. It directly blocks the function of lipase in the intestine, which is responsible for breaking down fat molecules so that the body can absorb it. Studies show that Xenical can block as much as 25% of the total fat taken in from a single meal.
• Not to be taken when known allergic reaction to orlistat is noted.
• Not to be taken by individuals younger than 18 years of age
• Works best with a complete weight loss system comprising of proper diet, exercise and weight control.

I'm not sure that it helped but what was a total turn off was even when you didn't think it was happening you were releasing oily discharge from your bottom.
Dr took me off it because was losing weight too fast :(
I am currently taking xenical and am watching what I eat. I am aware of the side effects that go with this pill and do not want to go there. I am being very careful of the amount of fat I intake on a daily basis.
